Quick and easy healthy vegan Strawberry and Apple crumble
I am writing this post up on the 15th of February. Last night I made a healthy(ish) crumble for our valentines meal dessert. For starters/side we had spring rolls, main was a teriyaki stir-fry and dessert was this crumble.
You will need:
2 small sweet apples
5 strawberries
Cinnamon
150 grams of oats
100 grams of flour
1 tablespoon of butter
1 or 2 tablespoons of golden syrup
Step one: Chop your apples and add them into a small pan with a bit of water to stew on a medium/low heat. Add in a bit of cinnamon (How ever much you want, I am a big cinnamon fan so I use a fair amount)
Step two: While the apples are stewing, chop up your strawberries and add these to the pan as well.
Step three: In a mixing bowl add in your oats, flour and cinnamon. Mix these all together before adding in the melted butter and golden syrup.
(Now would be a good time to preheat your oven to 180 degrees celsius)
Step four: Mix all the ingredients together to form a crumble.
Step five: Since my recipe is for two people i divided my tray off with tin foil (see picture) which keeps everything in place.
Step six: Once the fruit has stewed tip it into the sectioned off part of the tray and put the crumble on top, press it down gently so that there are no gaps.
Step seven: Place the tray in the oven for around 20 minutes or until golden brown.
Step eight: You can choose what you do here, either leave it too cool slightly or carefully serve up straight away. I served ours with ice cream (Alpro vanilla)
